As a collective of settlers, immigrants, and descendants of immigrants we acknowledge, first and foremost, that we live, work, and gather in Tkaranto which is the land and traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples, and we celebrate their stories, cultures, and traditions. This land is part of Treaty 13 & Williams Treaties territory. We believe everything in our field of practice begins with the land. The ongoing legacy of settler-colonial systems impacts all aspects of our contemporary lives, and we strive to shift our collective understanding away from land ownership and towards land stewardship. We commit to doing so through acknowledging the past and present truths of our history with the land and its caretakers, and through acts of reconciliation.
