People Design Co-op is a non-profit co-operative made up of members of designers, architects, and urbanists working to support the transfer of housing into the public domain. We focus on making meaningful contributions to the built environment, centring the voices of equity-deserving communities, and evolving sustainable design practices that reduce carbon emissions.

We work with non-profit and public housing providers, social service providers, and community land trusts to retrofit and develop their affordable housing stock. Working home-by-home and across large portfolios, we develop strategies that quickly shift operations away from fossil fuels and towards high-performing and passive homes, built with healthy, low-carbon materials that improve the lives and health of their communities and residents.
